Decorative Return Air Vent Covers - Pattern F

Looking to replace your old, rusted, metal filter grille? Look no further! These Pattern Cut Filter Grilles won't rust because they are made of 100% laminated birch hardwood. You get to choose between 3 veneers options; oak, maple and cherry. The maple veneer is usually recommended if you are planning on painting your filter grille. These filter grilles do come sanded and ready to be finished! There are many different sizes however if you don't see what you are looking for you can reach us at 1-800-504-5989 and get a custom size quote.

Each Pattern Cut Filter Grille comes with a 1" dark blue reusable filter.

Pattern Cut Filter Grilles are cut to order, lead time is 3-5 weeks to ship. These wood grilles are special order, non-returnable and cannot be canceled once payment is received.

How to Order Your Decorative Air Return Wall Grille

- Measure the duct opening in your wall or ceiling (w" x h").
- In the drop down menu listed "Size/Price" select the corresponding size.
Ex: a 12" wide x 6" high duct opening will need a 12 x 6 wall grille.
Hint: The outer measurement of the grilles will be 2" larger than the duct size. In the previous example, the faceplate would measure 14" x 8"
- Determine which wood veneer you'd like the face of your decorative air return to be. (Oak, Maple, or Cherry)
Hint: If the grille is going to be painted, the manufacturer recommends choosing the maple veneer.
- In the drop down menu listed "Wood Type" select the veneer of your choice.

How to Stain Your Decorative Return Air Vent Cover

- Fill a large pan with a the stain of your choice.
- Submerge the vent cover in the stain.
- Allow to dry in an upright position.
- Once the grille is dry, lay it flat and spray with a laquer sanding sealer (2-3 coats).
- Spray one coat on the back to ensure that the grille is completely sealed.
- After the grille dries for at least 24 hours, gently sand it being extra careful around the edges.
- Spray your decorative return air grille with a clear laquer and allow to dry for three days before installing in your home.

Do not finish in or expose your Pattern Cut grille to direct sunlight.

How to Paint Your Decorative Return Air Vent Cover

- The manufacturer recommends purchasing the Maple Veneer if you plan to paint the grille.
- Thin your primer and apply to the grille using a soft brush.
- Be careful not to let drips build up on the edges.
- The best way to apply the paint is by using a spray, however, a brush or roller will also work.
- Apply 2 finish coats and allow to dry completely before installing.

The filter grilles are meant to be used in the wall and ceiling only.
